Comprehensive insurance is provided for one driver, for the duration of the hire period, for travel within the UK. All drivers must be between the ages of 25 and 75, with a full, clean UK driving license which has been held for over two years. Drivers who are outside of this age bracket, or have points on their license, may have to pay an additional fee. Additional drivers can be added at an extra cost of £50 per hire.
Travel outside of the UK is not permitted. Motorhomes must stay at a registered campsite. It is not permitted to stay overnight on private land or laybys.
There is a £1000 excess which must be paid by the hirer following any incident, where an insurance claim is made.
2. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
Upon booking the motorhome hire, we will contact you to request your driving license details, so that we can complete an on-line license check.
On the day of collection, we will also take copies of your photo card driving license, and two forms of proof of address. These can be utility bills, TV/Internet Bill, Bank or Credit Card Statement, Mortgage Statement, or Council Tax Bill. These must be dated within 30 days of the hire.
3. BOOKING PROCEDURE & PAYMENT
A 30% deposit at the time of booking is required (if it is four weeks before the planned hire), which is non-refundable. The balance is due four weeks before the collection date.
A bond is due to be paid on collection of the motorhome. This is held until the motorhome has been returned and inspected. The bond is refunded within a week, after the return of the motorhome, if no damage has been caused to the motorhome. The bond is £1000 regardless of the period of hire.
BOWKER MOTOR HOMES will not hire any motorhomes on any other terms and conditions. These terms and conditions become binding at the time of booking. Providing that these terms and conditions have been made available to you, through the booking process, they are binding on you, whether or not they have been signed by you. Payment is by Debit, or Credit card, PayPal, bank transfer or cash.
4. CANCELLATION CHARGES
More than 4 weeks: Deposit will be retained
Less than 4 weeks: 100% of the booking
BOWKER MOTOR HOMES reserves the right to amend our cancellation policy for certain events.
5. MOTORHOME COLLECTION
Collection time is from 2.30pm, to 4pm, on the day of handover. A specific timeslot will be given to you, two weeks before the day of collection. You are advised to check the vehicle thoroughly and ensure that you understand how to drive and operate it, before leaving our premises.
Customer’s vehicles can be stored on BOWKER MOTOR HOMES site during the period of the hire. BOWKER MOTOR HOMES Accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage that might occur. The vehicle registration plate is required as part of the booking procedure.
6. VEHICLE RETURNS
All motorhomes must be returned between 8.30am and 10am on the day of return. Late returns have a significant impact on the next hire.
All vehicles must be returned to BOWKER MOTOR HOMES, before 10am, on the final day of your period of hire. If you fail to meet the return time, you will be liable to an extra charge of £100 per hour. The insurance provided ends at 10am on the final day of the hire period. Failure to return, by 10am without contacting us will render the vehicle as being taken without consent this would also invalidate your insurance cover by us and any incident will constitute an offence. Contact the office immediately if there is any delay so that we may ensure that you continue with cover.
Upon returning the motorhome, BOWKER MOTOR HOMES will check the vehicle for damage, cleanliness and that it is returned in the same condition as the motorhome was at the start of the hire period. (Clean interior, Toilet emptied, Fuel tank full). Failure to return the motorhome in the same condition, will result in all, or part of your security bond being retained by BOWKER MOTOR HOMES. We reserve the right to deduct any amount which we determine to be due to us from the security deposit and our opinion as to what is due is binding except in the case of manifest error. Motorhome repair and cleaning prices are available on request.
If no charges have been incurred to the security deposit, we will then refund the security deposit, however, please be aware that this can take up to a week to process.
We provide secure parking for the period of the hire of the motorhome. We will ask for the registration number of your car as part of the confirmation of your booking process.
7. BREAKDOWN AND ACCIDENTS
The motorhomes are maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Full roadside assistance is provided in the UK. If an incident occurs, contact BOWKER MOTOR HOMES, following the instructions provided to you at handover.
In the event of an accident, the safety of the hirer and their party is paramount. Emergency services should be called first, if necessary and the accident dealt with in the necessary manner. Only after everyone involved in the accident is safe should the hirer contact BOWKER MO TOR HOMES as per the instructions provided at the point of handover. Regardless of how minor the incident, the full details of anyone involved must to be noted down in the accident report form, which is kept in the vehicle. This is the responsibility of the hirer. You are provided with a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket. Please do inform us of any use of any of these items so that we can replace them.
BOWKER MOTOR HOMES request all hirers have their own personal travel insurance.
Up to 2 dogs are permitted in the motorhome at any time if Bowker Motorhomes has been informed prior to collection and authorisation given. Dogs are not permitted on the furniture and all evidence of dogs being present in the motorhome must be removed prior to returning the motorhome to BOWKER MOTOR HOMES
We reserve the right to deduct any amount which is determined to be due to us, from the security deposit, to allow for additional cleaning, or damage caused by pets.
Our motorhomes are fitted with 6 three-point seatbelts. These must always be worn when the vehicle is in motion and/or on public roads.
Appropriate car seats must be used for children in accordance with the law. It is the responsibility of the hirer to fit any car seats themselves. BOWKER MOTOR HOMES take no responsibility for any ill fitted child restraints or seatbelts not being worn.
10. CAMPSITE BOOKINGS
It is the responsibility of the hirer to pre-book and confirm all sites they intend to stay at during the holiday. BOWKER MOTOR HOMES take no responsibility for any bookings or cancellations at caravan and camp sites.
11. FUEL, OIL, GAS AND OTHER CONSUMABLES
The motorhome is supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be returned in the same manner. If the fuel tank is not showing as full then it will be refuelled and the cost of the fuel, plus a £100 admin fee will be charged. Gas cylinder(s) will be supplied with the motorhome. If additional gas is required, this is the responsibility of the hirer. In any event the gas cylinder(s) must be returned with the motorhome. Failure to do so will result in the cost of the replacement cylinder, plus a £40 admin fee.
There is a maximum mileage limit, per period of hire, of 2500 miles per hire / per week dependant of the length of hire.
Each mile in excess of this will be charged out at 15p per mile. BOWKER MOTOR HOMES will record the mileage at the beginning and end of the hire period.
13. EVENTS BEYOND OUR CONTROL
Unfortunately, events beyond our control occasionally affect bookings. When reference is made to such events in these Terms and Conditions of Hire, this means any events(s) or circumstances(s) which we could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid.
BOWKER MOTOR HOMES cannot accept responsibility, or pay compensation, costs or expenses where the performance of your contract with us is prevented or affected or you otherwise suffer any loss or damage as a result of events beyond our control. This includes any delays to and/or restrictions to your hire to which you may be subject. However, if your booking must be cancelled as a result, we will offer you the choice of an alternative vehicle (if available) or refund as described above. The offer of an alternative vehicle or refund shall be an exclusive remedy in respond of any loss, costs, or expenses caused by the events beyond our control.
14. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Hire period can be begin any day apart from Tuesdays and Sundays. Collection time is from 2.30pm, to 4pm, on the day of handover. All motorhomes must be returned between 8.30am and 10am on the day of return.
15. SUITABLE PERSONS
We have the right to refuse to hand over a vehicle to any person who, in our reasonable opinion, is not suitable to take charge. In such cases, no refund of the hire charge will be made by BOWKER MOTOR HOMES who will have no further liability.
16. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. You are responsible for the security of the vehicle at all times during the hire period. You must not drive the vehicle ‘Off Road’ other than for reasonable access to a campsite. Should you become stuck at any time while ‘Off Road’ you will be responsible for any recovery costs. The breakdown cover is for roadside assistance only.
2. You are responsible for all fines and other legal charges, including but not limited to parking fines, speeding fines, the full cost of any fees associated with the vehicle being impounded and any on the spot fines. Such fines & charges may incur a £25 administration fee by BOWKER MOTOR HOMES.
3. You are responsible for all the keys/tracker fobs that belong to the vehicle. Lost keys are expensive and are not included as part of the breakdown service. You will be responsible for the full cost of the replacement keys and replacement locks if required. You will also be liable for the full cost of repairing any damage caused by forced entry of the vehicle.
4. You must not sell, rent, lend or dispose of the vehicle or any of its parts, you must not give anyone legal rights over the vehicle. The vehicle always remains the property of BOWKER MOTOR HOMES.
5. At the time of handover the vehicle will be documented to be in a roadworthy condition. You must always maintain the vehicle is in a roadworthy condition. You must report any fault in or on the vehicle as soon as possible to us, allowing us reasonable time to locate parts and make any necessary repairs.
6. You must make sure that you use the correct fuel. Using the wrong fuel is not covered by the breakdown service and you will be liable for the full cost of any remedial repairs required as a result of using the wrong fuel.
7. The hirer shall be responsible for all OVERHEAD DAMAGE resulting from any accident – overhead damage is defined from the ground to in excess of 4metres or 11’3” off the ground. Damage to the WINDSCREEN, TYRES & PUNCTURES are the responsibility of the hirer. You are required to check the condition of the tyres & engine fluid levels daily whilst you have the motorhome on hire.
8. Before you vacate the vehicle you must check that you have not left any personal belongings in the vehicle. BOWKER MOTOR HOMES is not responsible for any personal belongings left in the vehicle and is hereby authorised to dispose of the same after the end of the hire.
17. VEHICLE OWNERSHIP
The motorhome always remains the property of BOWKER MOTOR HOMES and we may repossess the vehicle at any time, without further notice, if you are in breach of this agreement.
18. EXTRA CHARGES
Toilet cassette not empty £50. Any cooking appliances or equipment found to be unclean £50. Fuel tanked unfilled – £100 plus costs of fuel. Valet penalty if returned in unsuitable condition £150. Speeding the vehicle is fitted with a GPS tracking alert that will notify any speeds over the speed limit. The vehicle is not designed to exceed 70mph for passenger & vehicle safety, each alert could incur a fine of £75.
You may park 1 car Free of Charge, for the duration of your motorhome hire but please note this is entirely at your own risk whilst at BOWKER MOTOR HOMES. We may also need to move your vehicle in our carpark during the period of your hire.
20. GDPR/DATA PROTECTION
For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1984, Bowker Motorhomes or any subsidiary thereof may hold and process by computer or otherwise the information given to or obtained by it. Bowker Motorhomes GDPR policy states that we retain certain personal documentation for a period of no more than 12 months. After this time all personal documentation is destroyed in line with the GDPR policy. If you prefer your personal documentation to be destroyed immediately after hire, please contact via email.
21. GOVERNING LAW
This agreement is subject to the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes not resolved by mutual agreement may only be settled in the courts of this jurisdiction.
If any provision or part-provision of this agreement is or becomes invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, it shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal and enforceable. If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision or part-provision shall be deemed deleted. Any modification to or deletion of a provision or part-provision under this clause shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the rest of this agreement.
23. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
The parties agree that the agreement constitutes the entire agreement between them, and supersedes all previous drafts, agreements, arrangements and understandings between them, whether oral or written.
Should a national government enforced lockdown occur as a result of covid-19 or any other pandemic, Caravans
BOWKER MOTOR HOMES will refund 100% of any monies paid.
