What payment options can I use?

Deposit payments via the website made via paypal. Final payment can be either cash or bank transfer. Other options subject to prior arrangement.

How do I cancel my booking?

Using the booking page go to manage my booking and select options required.

What is the drivers age limit maximum and minimum?

Our minimum age is 25.

Maximum is 65.

Can we have additional drivers on the hire?

Yes, you can add more driver to drive the rental motor home.  All drivers must be present when collecting the vehicle.   All drivers must also adhere to our general policy, you must be at least 25 yrs old and have held your licence for 1-2 yrs, depending on age.  (pls ask us if you have only held your licence for 12 months).

Do I need to provide a child/baby seat for my rental vehicle?

YES, THE LAW requires all children babies travelling in the seat of any vehicle must use the correct child seat until they are either 135cm in height or 12 yrs, off age.  Whichever they reach first.
BOWKER MOTOR HOMES DO NOT HIRE SEATS YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN.

THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ENSURING CHILDREN BABIES UNDER THE AGE OF 12 YRS ARE RESTRAINED CORRECTLY AND THE SEAT FITTED PROPERLY RESTS TOTALLY WITH THE INSURED DRIVER OF THE RENTAL VEHICLE.

Do the rental vehicles have cameras fitted?

Road traffic accident cameras may be fitted to the rental vehicle.  The camera is installed under the rear-view mirror to capture images in the event of a road traffic accident.   No sound is recorded only the video image.

Who can view recordings?

No one can access the footage unless the vehicle is involved in an accident. The device is installed to protect your insurance excess and may help determine liability in the event of a road traffic accident.

Do you store images of the journey?

No.  The camera only records for a short period and anything prior is permanently deleted.

What happens to the camera images in the event of an accident?

In the event of an accident the images are sent to Bowker motor homes insurance broker for analysis.  If the incident is found to be the fault of the 3rd party, you will not be liable for any charges and your pre-authorised deposit will not be withheld.

Can i remove camera from vehicle?

If the vehicle has a camera installed, it cannot be removed or tampered with under any circumstances.  if the camera is removed or tampered with please NOTE the insurance will be invalidated and the rental terminated and no refund with be made for any unused day.

Are there restrictions to where I can drive the vehicle?

As per Section 34 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, when driving in the UK it is illegal to drive a motor vehicle on, common land, moorland, forestry commission land or any land that is not forming part of a road without authorisation.  We do not permit off road driving these are not 4-wheel drive.

Driving within the UK only permitted.

We will look at overseas hire for customers who have previously hired without issues.  Please contact us by email with your request and if possible, we will arrange travel subject to conditions outside of the Uk.

Is there a deposit to book the motor home payable?

A deposit of £750 secures your booking and it is refunded 48 hrs after the vehicle is returned.  We withhold the right to retain all or part of the deposit if the vehicles in an accident and your liable.  We have other charges that can be deducted if the motor home is returned with less than a full tank of fuel (the motor home will be hired with a full tank and it is to be returned with a full tank). Any difference in fuel will be calculated and billed from your deposit.

We also hire a fully cleaned van and expect it back clean – charges for valeting may be incurred if you fail to clean it prior to giving it back.

Can we bring our dogs?

We allow well behaved dogs to travel with you.  This is by request on application.  we expect you to keep the van totally clean of dog hairs etc and return it without damage.  we recommend you use a dog cage while travelling.    Dogs will be charged as an extra at £30 per dog per hire.

What if im going to be late picking up or returning the motorhome on hire?

Please contact Bowker motor home asap to discuss the issue as soon as your aware.

We have charges in the terms and conditions for the rates per hr per day of a vehicle coming back late.   We give 30, mins grace on times outside of this you may be liable for the charges unless told in writing otherwise.

If you’re flying in to collect the motor home we cannot be held responsible for delayed flights etc, that will have to be taken up with your airline.

If your collecting/ returning after 10PM an out of hrs fee will be added.

Where do I collect and return the motor home on hire too ?

The drop of is always at the unit on our billing address from where you collected unless new arrangements have been agreed in advance via email.

Your own private vehicle storage?

We can have your vehicle left on our parking space. BUT THIS IS TOTALLY AT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.  WE CANNOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY ISSUES ARRISING FROM THE CAR BEING LEFT DURING THE HIRE PERIOD.
